A new studio!
David Romary, of  Hearth & Sol Construction and Energy Services, has been building and remodeling homes for 25 years.  My goal is to provide all of your design and construction needs under one roof.

After finishing 2 years in the UW-Milwaukee Architecture department, I completed a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. After ten years (and over 150 homes) doing production-type construction, I knew there had to be a better way. Since then, I have been bringing my skills to a variety of energy efficient and sustainable construction methods.  These include elements such as optimal value engineering, sustainable material use and recycling, passive solar design, and energy efficient, tight house construction methods.   I am also involved in creating hybrid designs that allow multiple green building techniques to be used in a single home.  Hybrid design  allows different building methods to be used where they are most effective and cost efficient.  Since early 2006, I have also been a fully trained Energy Rater, having passed the Residential Energy Services Network National Rater Exam.  This has allowed me to be involved with Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Homes program for new construction and the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program for existing homes.   These programs help ensure that your home is as tight and energy efficient as possible, while maintaining a healthy interior environment.   I maintain that no home is truly green if it wastes energy.
